Apple Cinnamon Fritters – A Simple, Delicious Weekend Treat

🍏🍩 Apple Cinnamon Fritters that are dairy-free, gluten-free, egg-free, and refined sugar-free—you heard that right! 😱 These little bites of heaven are the perfect weekend morning treat, and my family can’t get enough of them. 🙌

Apple Cinnamon Fritters

Trust me, you won’t even miss the dairy, gluten, or sugar! 🤩 Who knew healthy could taste this good?

Here’s What You Need:

To make these easy-to-love apple fritters, you’ll need a few simple tools and ingredients. It’s a fun recipe that doesn’t require anything too complicated.

Here’s the list:

  • Apple Kernel Inside Remover Tool – This tool helps you easily remove the apple cores so that your fritters have perfect apple slices every time. (You can skip this if you’re comfortable coring the apples by hand!)

  • 2 Organic Apples – Make sure they’re washed and sliced to your preferred thickness. I like a nice, hearty slice, but you can go as thin or thick as you like!

  • Pancake Batter – I use my own vegan pancake batter recipe, but I make it a little thicker by using less liquid. The batter needs to be nice and sticky so it coats the apples well.

  • My Organic Flour Blend – This is my secret! I’ve created my own organic flour blend that doesn’t have xanthan gum and works super well for baking. It’s versatile and a total game changer since I haven’t been able to find a good-quality organic flour that’s perfect for baking.

  • Maple Sugar – I always use maple sugar in my recipes, as it’s much easier on my gut microbiome compared to refined sugars. It also adds a lovely, warm sweetness to the fritters.

  • Vietnamese Cinnamon – The rich, fragrant cinnamon makes these fritters absolutely irresistible.

  • Maple Syrup – A drizzle of maple syrup adds the perfect finishing touch for a natural, sweet flavor.

  • Ghee for Baking - it's in my opinion the best choice but can be substituted with oil!

How to Make the Fritters:

  1. Prep the Apples: Start by using your apple kernel inside remover tool to remove the cores of your apples (or do it by hand if you prefer). Then slice the apples into thick slices—about 1/2 inch thick works well, but feel free to adjust to your taste.

  2. Prepare the Pancake Batter: In a bowl, make your pancake batter. If you’re following my vegan recipe, just make sure to use a little less liquid to thicken the batter. You want it to be sticky so that it coats the apple slices well.

  3. Coat the Apple Slices: Dip each apple slice into the batter, ensuring both sides are coated. Let any excess batter drip off a little before frying.

  4. Fry the Fritters: Heat a medium-sized pan over medium heat and add a little ghee (or oil of your choice). Once the pan is hot, place the apple slices into the pan, frying them until golden and crispy on both sides. This usually takes about 2-3 minutes per side.

  5. Make Extra Fritters: If you have any leftover batter, don’t waste it! You can make a few extra fritters without apples and enjoy them as a simple, tasty treat later.

  6. Serve & Enjoy: Once your fritters are golden and crispy, remove them from the pan and let them drain on a paper towel. Then serve them warm with a drizzle of maple syrup on top. Enjoy the delicious crunch with every bite!

Why You’ll Love These Apple Cinnamon Fritters

These fritters are the perfect blend of crispy and tender, and the flavors are just heavenly. The apple slices add a nice juicy bite, while the batter holds everything together perfectly. The combination of warm Vietnamese cinnamon, sweet maple sugar, and the richness of ghee (or your preferred frying oil) make these fritters a standout treat.

What makes this recipe even better? It’s so flexible! You can use whatever apples you have on hand, and the batter is thick enough to hold up to different fillings. Plus, it’s a great way to use up leftover batter and make some plain pancake fritters for later.
