Warning: Once you try this, you’ll never buy potatoes again‼️ And your kids will LOVE to help you!
How to Grow Potatoes in a Sack (Fun & Easy!)
1️⃣ Pick Your Sack – Use a sturdy fabric grow bag, burlap sack, or even a reusable grocery bag with drainage holes.
2️⃣ Add Soil & Seed Potatoes – Fill the bottom with about 4 inches of nutrient-rich soil. Cut seed potatoes into chunks (each with an “eye”) and place them on top, then cover with more soil.
3️⃣ Water & Watch – Keep the soil moist but not soggy. In a week or two, green sprouts will pop up!
4️⃣ Keep Adding Soil – As the plants grow, keep adding soil to cover the lower leaves, leaving the top few inches exposed. This encourages more potatoes to form!
5️⃣ Sun & Water – Place the sack in a sunny spot (at least 6 hours of sunlight daily) and water regularly.
6️⃣ Harvest & Enjoy! – In about 90 days, when the plants turn yellow and wilt, it’s harvest time! Let the kids dig through the sack to find the potatoes—it’s like a treasure hunt!
Bonus: Try growing different types of potatoes for extra fun!
Are you trying this in 2025?!
